Migrate your Stripe account to Clearent

Transfer your payment data seamlessly from Stripe to Clearent with our step-by-step guide.

If you are currently using Stripe for payments and would like to bring over your customer's payment data to CleanCloud, you will need to go through a token migration process.

🗒️ Note: This can only be done at the same time your customers are imported into CleanCloud for the first time. The process can take up to 14 working days to complete once Stripe has prepared the export.


Getting Started

1. Get your merchant account setup with Clearent.

2. Download your customer list from your current software provider and email it to [email protected].

3. Login to your Stripe business account and fill out the Stripe Data Migration form – which can be found at this link.

The request form will look like the image below:

👉 Pro Tip: While both CSV and JSON files are options in the question 'Which file format would you prefer for your export?', Clearent strongly recommends selecting JSON for optimal results.

4. Once completed, click on the “Send email” button and Stripe will email you directly to continue the process.

5. You will receive an email from the Stripe migrations team just confirming that you would like to migrate your tokens. Reply with “Confirm” to their email.

6. Stripe will then send you another email confirming the data you would like to export. Please check if this looks correct and if it is, then just respond with “Yes, please proceed”.

8. Approximately 1 day later, you will receive a final email from Stripe Migrations confirming that the export is ready with all of the details. Please forward this email to [email protected].

9. CleanCloud will then forward these details to Clearent to prepare the import.


FAQ

1. Will I lose my Stripe data?

Stripe will continue to keep your account open so you have access to historical data.

2. What happens once I have exported my customers from Stripe?

Once Stripe has done the export, any new customer payment tokens added to your Stripe account will not be migrated over to Clearent.
