Clearent: Saved Card Integration in CleanCloud

Set up Clearent Hosted Payments in CleanCloud to securely store and charge customer credit cards for seamless transactions and pickups.

Clearent Hosted Payments enables secure credit card storage, making transactions seamless for recurring customers and pickup & delivery services. This integration allows businesses to store customer payment details for faster checkouts and automated payments.

Getting Started with Clearent Hosted Payments

To onboard with Clearent, visit Clearent’s site and submit the required details to connect with a Clearent representative.

  • Currently available in the U.S.

  • Requires CleanCloud Version 2 for integration.


Setting Up Clearent in CleanCloud

Once onboarded, Clearent will provide API credentials. In some cases, Clearent staff may enter these details for you. If not, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings → Admin → Payments & Finances → Payments.

  2. Find the Clearent Payment section.

  3. Enter your Public Key and API Key in the respective fields.

  4. Toggle settings based on your preferences:

    • Let Customers Add Credit Card in App

    • Require Customers to Add Credit Card Before They Can Place an Order

  5. Click Submit to save your settings.


Charging a Saved Credit Card

Once Clearent is set up, customers can pay online, and staff can process payments using saved cards.

From the Ready Page (POS)

  1. Go to the Ready page and click Payment next to the order.

  2. In the pop-up, select Pay with Saved Card (Clearent).

  3. If the customer has a stored card, it will be charged automatically.

  4. If no card is stored, you can manually enter payment details.


From the New Order Page (POS)

  1. Create or edit an order on the New Order page.

  2. Select Pay with Saved Card (Clearent) as the payment method.

  3. Click Submit to process the transaction.


From the Driver App

  1. When marking an order as Delivered, the driver can select Pay by Card.

  2. The system will attempt to charge the customer’s stored card.


Managing Stored Credit Cards in CleanCloud

With Clearent integration, you can view, edit, and remove saved customer cards directly from the Customer CRM page.

Adding or Updating a Saved Card

  1. Navigate to the Customer CRM page.

  2. Click Edit Customer.

  3. Find the Clearent Credit Card section and click Add Card.

  4. Enter card details manually or select Use Card Terminal for secure input.

  5. Click Update to save changes.

Stored card details include:

  • Expiry date

  • Card type

  • Last four digits

  • Date added


Enabling Clearent for Pickup & Delivery App

  1. Go to Settings → Admin → Payments & Finances.

  2. Scroll to the Payment section.

  3. Toggle the following settings as needed:

    • Let Customers Add Credit Card in App

    • Require Customers to Add Credit Card Before They Can Place an Order

  4. Click Submit to apply the changes.

⚠️ Important:

✔ Customers must enter their zip code when saving a Clearent card in the web booking tool and customer app.

✔ For added security, contact our support team to enable zip code verification and prevent transactions with mismatched zip codes.
