Printer Installation

  1. Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to your internet router via an Ethernet cable.

  2. Open Control Panel on your PC.

  3. Navigate to Devices and Printers (this may be called Printers and Faxes in older versions of Windows).

  4. Check if the Star TSP100 printer is listed among the installed printers. It may be labeled as Star TSP100 Cutter (TSP742).

    • If the printer is already installed, please skip to Get & Set IP Address.

    • If it is not installed, continue with the steps below.

Downloading the Driver

  1. Download the Star TSP100 driver for this printer.

  2. Navigate to the support website for the Star TSP100 by clicking here.

  3. Download the TSP100 futurePRNT Software Full and agree to the software license.

  4. Once downloaded, unzip the file by right-clicking and selecting Extract All.

  5. Open the Setup folder and double-click on the file named Setup to start the installer.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Printer Driver.

    • You will be prompted to choose a Setup Type; we recommend selecting Typical.

  7. Once completed, the printer should appear in Control Panel as Star TSP100.

ⓘ Note that there may be minor differences in the name of the printer, and it may take a few minutes to complete.

Get & Set IP Address

  1. After the driver has been installed, click the Windows button at the bottom left and type Ethernet.

  2. In the results, it should show the Ethernet Setup Tool. Click on this to open it.

    • If you are unable to find this, navigate to Program Files (x86) > Starmicronics > Star TSP100 > EthernetSetting.

  3. Once the Ethernet setup tool is open, click the Search LAN for TSP100 button.

  4. Wait until your printer appears on the list.

  5. We recommend setting a static IP address to avoid the printer’s IP address changing in the future.

  6. To set the static IP address, select your printer from the list.

  7. Click Change TCP/IP setting to set a static IP.

  8. Once you are satisfied with your IP address, click the Add Printer Queue button. This will add your printer to the Windows Control Panel.

📌 Before proceeding to the next step, ensure QZ Tray is installed. If you need assistance with this, refer to our dedicated QZ Tray article.
