Step 1: Check if the Printer is Already Installed

To begin the process, identify the type of connection your printer supports. For the Star SP700, USB is the preferred option, but you can also use the LAN port if necessary. Ensure that all cables are securely connected and verify the appropriate port is being used.

  1. Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to your computer via a USB cable.

  2. Open Control Panel on your Windows computer.

  3. Navigate to Devices and Printers (or Printers and Faxes for older versions of Windows).

  4. Check if the printer appears on the list of installed printers. It should be listed as something like Star SP700 Cutter (SP742).

    • If the printer is installed, skip to Step 3.

    • If it’s not installed, continue to Step 2.

    • Verify that the printer is connected to the correct port (USB or LAN) and that your device recognizes it in the appropriate settings.

Step 2: Install the Printer Driver

  1. Download the Star SP700 printer driver.

  2. After downloading, unzip the file by right-clicking and selecting Extract all.

  3. Open the unzipped folder and double-click on the installer to begin the installation.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

  5. Once the installation is complete, the printer should now appear in Control Panel as Star SP700 Cutter (SP742).

  6. If you experience issues during this step, double-check that you have downloaded the correct driver for your operating system from the manufacturer's website.

Step 3: Install QZTray

Download and install QZTray, an application that allows CleanCloud to connect to your printer via a web browser. Follow this QZTray setup guide for detailed installation instructions, and ensure that QZTray is running in the background on your computer.

Step 4: Add Printer to CleanCloud

  1. Log into your CleanCloud account.

  2. Go to Settings → Hardware.

  3. Scroll down to the Garment Tag Printer section.

  4. Select Star as the printer manufacturer.

  5. Enter the exact name of the printer as it appears in Control Panel (usually Star SP700 Cutter (SP742)).

  6. Activate options like Auto Print Garment Tag if needed.

  7. Click Update to save the settings.

  8. If this is your first printer setup, you will be asked to allow CleanCloud to communicate with QZTray. Check the Always Allow option and click OK.

✅ Your Printer is Ready to Use!

To ensure the setup is successful, print a test page or perform a garment tag test. This will confirm that the printer is integrated properly with CleanCloud.

Try creating an order to test the printer and ensure everything is working smoothly.

⚠️ Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues: For additional issues:

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the correct port (USB or LAN) and it matches the device settings.

  • Attempt reconnecting all cables securely and restarting the device.

  • Install remote access software, such as AnyDesk, to allow remote troubleshooting if further support is needed.

  • Refer to the Printer Setup Troubleshooting Guide for common problems and solutions.

  • Verify that QZTray is running, and that the printer appears correctly in Devices and Printers.
