How to Activate Uber
Follow these three steps to activate and set up Uber for order management:
Step 1: Activating Uber
Navigate to Settings → Admin → Store Settings → Services Offered.
Toggle on Uber Pickup and Delivery.
Press Submit to save your changes.
Step 2: Setting Up Uber Preferences
After activating Uber, configure your account settings by going to Settings → Admin → Pickup and Delivery → Uber. (If DoorDash is also enabled, this section will be labeled DoorDash / Uber.)
Configure your Uber settings as follows:
Require Journey Confirmation | Enable this to manually confirm new order journeys (pickup, delivery). Disable it for automatic confirmations. Note: Journeys can’t be confirmed without sufficient journey credit. |
Send Push Notifications for Journey Status Changes | Keep customers informed of their order status through free push notifications. |
Require Signature on Delivery | If enabled, Uber drivers must collect the customer's signature upon delivery. |
Delivery Verification | Choose between Photo Proof or No Verification. Photo Proof requires the Uber driver to capture a photo upon delivery. |
Journey Fee Coverage ($) | Enter an amount to partially cover the journey fee (e.g., with a $2.50 fee coverage, the customer pays $5.00 for a $7.00 journey). Leave this field empty if you do not wish to cover any part of the fee. |
Journey Credits | Journey credits cover the fees from Uber to CleanCloud. If credits drop below $100.00, customers can’t book new orders with Uber. Purchase credits in bundles ranging from $200 to $2,500 under Buy Journey Credits. Tip: Enable the 'Auto Top-Up when below 300 credits' option to avoid running out of credits. |
Pickup and Delivery Options | Under Business Hours for Drivers, select the days and times you want to enable Uber orders. Uber journeys will only be available during these selected hours. The minimum time range for a day is 4 hours. |
Address Information | Ensure your store address is accurately entered. Add notes for drivers to locate your store easily, and include latitude and longitude coordinates for precision. |
After making these changes, press Submit to save your preferences. You can return to adjust any details later.
Step 3: Uber Routes
The final step is to ensure Uber is activated for your designated routes. You can either create a new route specifically for Uber or update existing ones to include Uber coverage.
Go to Settings → Admin → Pickup and Delivery → Routes.
Select the route you want to cover.
Click the pencil icon to edit the route.
Toggle on Uber Active.
A new field, Custom Uber Business Hours, will appear, allowing you to specify the dates and times for Uber integration.
Press Submit to save your changes.
Done! 🎉 Uber is now fully enabled and set up. Your customers can start placing Uber pickup and delivery orders through the customer app or web booking tool, and you’re ready to process Uber orders via the POS.
