Overview

You can configure delivery fees for pickup and delivery orders directly in CleanCloud. Fees are automatically applied based on system rules, and you can adjust them permanently in settings or apply one-time workarounds if needed.

Key benefits / use cases

  • Control delivery costs with flexible fee settings.

  • Avoid billing errors by setting clear thresholds and rules.

  • Easily override fees for special cases or recurring adjustments.

How to set delivery fees

  1. Go to Settings → Admin → Pickup and Delivery → General Settings.

  2. Locate the Delivery Fee ($) field.

  3. Enter the fee amount.

  4. Set the threshold in the For orders under $ field.

Important: You must set a threshold for the fee to be applied correctly.

A single delivery fee may be split between pickup and delivery. For example, if you set a $10 fee, the system automatically applies $5 for pickup and $5 for delivery.

How to remove automated fees

Delivery fees are automatically assigned by the system, so manual removal is not supported. If you need to waive or adjust a fee, use one of the following options:

One-time fee adjustments

  1. On the New Order page, click + Item.

  2. Create a custom product (e.g., Delivery Fee Waived).

  3. Enter a negative price (e.g., -$5) to offset the delivery fee.

  4. The system will balance the total, effectively removing the fee.

Tip: If this is a frequent adjustment, create a standard product for easy reuse.

Recurring adjustments

Update your delivery fee policies in Settings → Admin → Pickup and Delivery → General Settings. This ensures permanent changes rather than applying manual overrides.

How to make delivery fees tax exempt

  1. Go to Settings → Admin → Pickup and Delivery → General Settings.

  2. Locate the Delivery Fee Tax Exempt option.

  3. Adjust the setting to disable taxes on delivery fees.

This setting applies only to the POS system. For pickup and delivery orders placed through the customer app, the system automatically adjusts the tax amount.

FAQs

1. Can I split different fees for pickup and delivery?

No. The system automatically splits a single fee across both pickup and delivery.

2. Why can’t I remove delivery fees manually?

Delivery fees follow system rules to ensure consistency. You can apply one-time adjustments using a negative custom item or change your settings for a permanent update.

3. Does the tax-exempt setting apply to all order types?

No. It applies only to POS orders. The system automatically manages tax for customer app orders.
