Here we’ll cover common DoorDash troubleshooting issues and solutions to help keep your operations running smoothly.

1. Review Order Update

If you encounter the "Unable to detect order changes!" error when editing a DoorDash order, enabling the 'Review Order Update' option in your POS can resolve the issue.

  • Go to Settings → Admin → Workflow → General Settings.

  • Toggle on the Review Order Update option.

2. Address Restrictions in NYC

If you're based in New York City, specific address restrictions may affect orders within designated routes. You may see the error message “Selected address is not within service area” when trying to place an order.

Bridges, Boroughs, and Tunnels

Due to new laws in NYC, DoorDash no longer supports deliveries that require crossing bridges, boroughs, or tunnels. This regulation may cause error messages when creating orders that don't comply with this rule.

Access the full list of affected bridges and tunnels in NYC here.

3. Selected Address is Not Within Service Area

DoorDash delivers orders within a 15-mile radius of your store address, provided the customer’s address is within DoorDash's coverage area. However, DoorDash may not always be able to pick up orders from certain customer addresses.

Possible Causes

  • Urban Density: DoorDash primarily services downtown areas, which makes it challenging to send drivers to more remote locations for home pickups.

  • Sometimes, DoorDash cannot provide delivery for certain addresses, or the delivery area may be restricted.

If you're experiencing this issue, we can reach out to the DoorDash technical team to request an expansion of the delivery area, though we cannot guarantee it will be met.
