If you have the prompt for rack location option enabled then you can assign a rack location in three different ways:

1) By clicking the Cleaned button for an order. A box will pop up asking for the rack location. You enter the rack location and press Submit

2) Using a barcode scanner. You can scan the barcode on the thermal receipt. This will find the order and bring up Rack Location prompt. You can either type in the rack location, or if you have barcode stickers on your rack locations you can scan that barcode to automatically assign it.

When you assign the rack location the order is automatically moved to the READY page and the customer will be notified. You will see the rack location for each order in the # column on the READY page

3) You can also rack orders directly from the READY page. To do this, click on the 'Rack Orders' button. You will then need to input first the Order ID of the order you would like to assign to a rack, and then the rack location; you can use this method to assign multiple orders to multiple different rack locations. You can input this information by typing it in, however, you can also scan the barcode on the order receipt and the barcode on the rack location to do this.

Improved functionality when you are racking orders from the READY page:

If you have an order sitting on the CLEANING page but you click on 'Rack Orders' on the READY page; then the order would move from CLEANING to READY and your customer can be notified that their order is ready. This is provided that you have the 'Order Cleaned and Ready' notification toggle enabled in Settings > Admin > Notifications > General Settings.

If you try to rack an order which is not featured among your active order list (for example it might have been mistakenly marked as completed) then the order will be brought back to the READY page and you should hear a sound to notify you that this order has been sent there.

This is so an order that was accidentally marked as completed can be quickly brought back to the Ready page.
