Implementing barcode scanning in your wash, dry & fold workflow can help you speed up the process of moving orders from one stage to the other. Follow these steps to seamlessly assign barcodes to your washers, dryers, and folding area:
Assigning Barcodes to Washers, Dryers & Folding Area
1. Attach a barcode label or sticker to each washer, dryer, and folding area.
2. Navigate to Settings > Admin > Workflow > Washers & Dryers. Click on 'Add Washer' or 'Add Dryer' and input a unique barcode number for each machine.
Note: You can also edit existing washer or dryer information to include the barcode.
3. For the folding area, enter the assigned barcode number in the 'Barcode of Folding Location' field, ensuring the 'Use Barcode Scanner to Assign Orders' toggle is enabled.
4. Ensure to click the green 'Submit' button to save these changes.
Assigning Orders through Barcode Scanning
1. Access the Machines page (learn how to enable this feature in this article).
2. Begin by scanning the order receipt, followed by scanning the barcode on the relevant washer to associate the order with the corresponding machine.
3. After the washing cycle is complete, rescan the order receipt, and then scan the barcode on the corresponding dryer to assign the order to the drying section.
4. Once the order is dried, complete the process by scanning the order receipt and then the barcode in the folding area to assign the order to the folding section.
