How to Use Barcode Scanning for Order Assignment in CleanCloud
Barcode scanning streamlines your wash, dry, & fold workflow by allowing you to assign orders to specific machines and workflow stages. Here’s a guide to setting up and using barcode scanning for efficient order management.
Assigning Barcodes to Washers, Dryers & Folding Area
Label Machines and Folding Areas: Attach a barcode label or sticker to each washer, dryer, and folding area for easy scanning.
Configure Machine Settings: Go to Settings → Admin → Workflow → Washers & Dryers. Click Add Washer or Add Dryer and input a unique barcode number for each machine in the Barcode field.
Tip:
To edit an existing machine, simply update the barcode number in the machine’s settings.
Set Up the Folding Area: In the Barcode of Folding Location field, enter the barcode assigned to your folding area. Make sure the Use Barcode Scanner to Assign Orders toggle is enabled.
Save Changes: Click the green Submit button to save these settings.
Assigning Orders Using Barcode Scanning
Access the Machines Page: Navigate to the Machines page to start assigning orders. (For setup instructions, refer to our guide on enabling the Machines page.)
Assign Orders to Washers: Begin by scanning the order receipt, then scan the barcode on the washer to assign the order to that machine.
Transfer to Dryers: After the wash cycle, rescan the order receipt, and then scan the dryer’s barcode to move the order to drying.
Assign Orders to Folding: Once the drying process is complete, scan the order receipt again, followed by the barcode in the folding area to complete the assignment.
