Sender ID is the name that appears as the message sender of an SMS message on the recipient’s device. In some countries, you can set a custom alphanumeric sender ID to replace the phone number that the customers see when they receive an SMS notification.

Setting your Custom Sender ID

To set a custom sender ID, go to Settings > Admin > Notifications > SMS and enter the desired text into the "Custom Sender ID/Name" field.

Pro Tip:

  • A sender ID must be between 6 and 11 characters in length.

  • A sender ID cannot contain spaces or hyphens.

  • Do not use ASCII special characters (such as # or @).

  • A sender ID cannot be registered for promotional messages.

Country Availability

It's important to make sure your country allows the use of Custom Sender IDs. This only works in some countries and may require pre-registration.

Country-Specific Availability

  • Custom sender IDs are unsupported in the US and Canada.

  • For the UK, recent updates mandate manual registration of Sender IDs; otherwise, it defaults to "Laundry". Contact support for specific ID registration.
