A recent browser update to Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge introduces a new security permission that affects how CleanCloud communicates with your printer via QZ Tray. This change requires a one-time action from you to ensure printing continues to work as normal.
What you need to do
When you open CleanCloud, you may see a popup asking permission to:
"Access other apps and services on this device"
If you click Block, CleanCloud will be unable to send print commands to your printer.
Why this permission is needed
CleanCloud uses QZ Tray to send print commands from your browser directly to your local printers. Updated browser security settings now require you to explicitly grant this permission before the connection can be established.
Accidentally clicked Block?
No problem. Follow the steps below for your browser.
Google Chrome
Click the settings icon to the left of the URL bar
Find Apps on device
Change the setting to Allow
Refresh the page
🎥 Watch the video guide:
Microsoft Edge
Click the padlock icon to the left of the URL bar
Find Apps on device
Change the setting to Allowed
Refresh the page
Printing should now work as expected.
