Hiring New Employees & Adding Them To Payroll

Everything you need to know about hiring new employees and making sure they are added to the payroll.

If your business hires new employees, we have made adding them to the payroll possible with the click of a button. When you go to create their user in the POS, simply select their employment status and tick the box to send them an email to complete their self-onboarding form.

Just follow the short clip below to see how to add the new employees to your payroll.

Please ensure that you select the correct hourly wage or salary that the employee will be paid and add a quick pin so they can clock in and out of the system. Also, ensure that you select whether they are a W-2 employee or a 1099 contractor in the employment status drop down box.

Employees will have 24 hours to complete their onboarding before the link expires, but don't worry, you can always send them a new link through the POS.

Once they have completed the self-onboarding form, their Gusto Onboarding Status will say ‘Self Onboarding Completed By Employee’, meaning it is awaiting an admin review.

To verify this, head to Users > Manage Gusto Employees and verify the information they have uploaded.
