CleanCloud now offers a Two-Factor Authenticator (2FA) for added account security. This feature adds an extra layer of protection to your CleanCloud account, ensuring your data stays secure.

Enabling Two-Factor Authentication

  1. Navigate to User Settings: Go to Settings > Users > Manager User Accounts and select the user you wish to enable Two-Factor Authentication for. Click the pencil icon to edit the user.

  2. Access 2FA: Scroll down to the 'Two-Factor Authentication' section and click the blue 'Set Up 2FA' button.

Setting Up Two-Factor Authentication

  1. Download an Authenticator App: First, download an authenticator app from your device's app store.

  2. Add Your Account: Use the app to scan the provided QR code to retrieve the code required for verification.

  3. Verify Your Account: Enter the 6-digit code provided by your authenticator app and press 'Verify'. Click 'Update' to confirm the changes.

πŸ” That's it! Two-factor authentication is now enabled.

Pro tip: If you can't scan the code, the system will generate a long alphanumeric key.

Logging In with Two-Factor Authentication

  1. After entering your login credentials, a new window will appear, requesting the authenticator code.

  2. Retrieve the 6-digit code from your authenticator app and input it into CleanCloud.

Note: Most authenticator codes are valid for 30 seconds.

Switching Users with PIN

If your user has set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), when switching users via PIN, the system will prompt you to enter a 6-digit code. Retrieve the code from your authenticator app and input it here.

Disabling Two-Factor Authentication

To disable Two-Factor Authentication for an account, access the user's details via the Users page (as mentioned here), click on the red 'Disable 2FA' button, and confirm the changes. The user will no longer need to provide the two-factor code.

Note: Only the store admin can disable the Two-Factor Authentication.

Recommended Authenticator Apps

Consider using Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, or Duo Mobile for added security.
