Efficiently managing laundry orders is essential for any laundry service business. Our drag-and-drop machines page feature simplifies the process, allowing you to assign orders to washers, dryers, and other stations with ease.

This guide will walk you through the activation process and how to use the page effectively.

Activation Steps

To begin using the drag-and-drop machines page feature, follow these simple steps:

1. Navigate to Settings → Admin → Workflow → Washers and Dryers → Settings.

2. Enable the following options:

  • Assign Orders to Washers and Dryers: This allows you to assign orders to specific machines.

  • Use Drag-n-Drop Machines Page: This enables the drag-and-drop interface for managing orders.

3. Click Submit to save your changes.

Once activated, the Machines tab will appear next to the Cleaning tab at the top of the page.

Drag-and-Drop Feature

The drag-and-drop interface is designed to be touch-friendly, making it accessible for tablet and iPad users. Staff can also easily navigate the interface by dragging and dropping cards using a mouse on desktop devices.

Simply drag and drop the relevant order to the desired column.

How it Works

  • The page features columns representing various stages of the laundry process, such as To-Do, Washers, Waiting, Dryers, Ironing, Folding, and Completed. Each column displays orders (represented by cards) awaiting processing or completed orders.

The Waiting, Ironing and Folding columns will be reflected in the Machines page if manually enabled on Settings → Admin → Workflow → Washer and Dryers → Settings → Use Waiting for Dryer Stage, Track Ironing of Orders and Track Folding of Orders.

  • Order cards within the To-Do column can be filtered by Order Time or Due Date.

  • When assigning orders to Washers and Dryers, you'll be prompted to select the cycle time, temperature, and choose the relevant machine(s) to assign the order to. You can even input a payout amount if you would like to register a cost for the usage of the relevant Washer/Dryer. It's also possible to add Order Notes to each load.

  • Upon completion of the dryer cycle, a green + plus button facilitates additional cycles if required.

  • After the order has progressed through the necessary stages, ensure to transfer the card to the Completed column. This action will automatically update the order to the Ready page.

Splitting Orders and Machines

  • With recent updates, the system now allows splitting a single order across multiple machines and stages, optimizing workflow and tracking. For instance, one order can be split between Washers and Dryers at the same time.

  • The same happens with machines – the Machines page facilitates the inclusion of multiple orders to a single machine, be it a Washer or Dryer. For this to occur, the orders must be in the To-Do list, and they must be added simultaneously by selecting the + plus sign under Orders when adding the first one.

  • You also have the option to activate the Keep Order(s) To-Do toggle as a portion of the order progresses to the next stage.

Enhanced Order View Filtering

  • The latest updates to the Machines page offer enhanced order viewing capabilities. By clicking on the card number, like 2/2 (illustrated below), you can filter and display only the specific order you need.

  • To close the filter, simply click the x in the top right corner, and all orders will be visible again.

Custom Cycles and Cycle Modifiers

You can add custom cycles to both washers and dryers, we’ve also added colour-coding to make them easily identifiable at a glance.

Additionally, you can charge for extras by assigning them on a per-cycle basis or for every cycle with our new Modifiers feature.

This article will guide you through the process of creating and using Custom Cycles and Cycle Modifiers.

Machines History

  • When you click on the order card, you'll not only access details about the order but also the Machine History.

  • Here, you'll find information such as the Machine Name, ID, Process (stage), Temperature, Start and End time, and staff assigned.

Additional Settings

Default and general settings for the Machines page can be adjusted in Settings → Admin → Workflow → Washers and Dryers → Settings.

Some of the popular features are:

  • Ask for Washer/Dryer Temperature: This would make selecting a temperature necessary.

  • Assigning Orders Requires Cash Drawer Payout: For coin-operated machines, staff can input the amounts.

  • Action When Order Complete: Here you can select 'No change to order status', 'Prompt for confirmation' or 'Set cleaned without prompt'.

  • Show Washer Notifications: Upon completion, receive notifications on-screen, optionally with sound alerts. Completed orders are indicated with a filled green bar.

  • Washer Times (min): Here you can select preset times that you want to make available on the Machines page.

  • Folding Locations: For folding stages, multiple folding locations can be added in Settings → Admin → Workflow → Washers and Dryers → Folding Locations. Assign an ID, name, and barcode for each location.

  • Ironing Locations: Add multiple ironing locations in Settings → Admin → Workflow → Washers and Dryers → Ironing Locations. Assign an ID, name, and barcode for each location.

Choose which sections (from Settings → Products → Sections) to display orders in the To-Do column. You can also opt to display orders that don't belong to any section yet by selecting the Unassigned option from the To-Do Orders Sections dropdown menu.
