Weight scales are essential for any laundry business, and at CleanCloud, we’ve integrated them into our system for seamless functionality. In this article, we’ll guide you through using weight scales when processing a new order and show you how to set up a weighted product so you can charge based on weight.
Setting Up a Product Priced by Weight
Click the Settings icon (three lines in the top left).
Navigate to the Products page.
Click the Add a Product button.
Enter the product details, including the product name and price.
Ensure that the product type is set to Weight and USB Weight Scale.
Using the Weight Scale with a New Order
On the New Order page, select the weight product you created.
A pop-up will appear, asking you to enter the weight.
You can either type in the weight or click the Read Scale button to get the value from the weight scale.
The product will now be added to the basket.

Due to updated Maryland regulations, all scales must be read manually – automated or system-read inputs are not permitted.
To comply:
Staff must manually enter the weight into the system.
The scale must feature a customer-facing screen that clearly shows:
Weight
Price
This screen must be visible to the customer throughout the weighing process to maintain transparency.
