If you prefer not to utilize a Zebra printer for printing your heat seal barcodes, you have the option to use pre-printed heat seal barcodes instead.

πŸ—’οΈ Pro Tip: Discover in this guide how heat seals optimize workflow efficiency, offering permanent barcode solutions for order processing and seamless tracking.

Activation Steps for Pre-Printed Barcodes

  1. Navigate to Settings > Hardware > Heat Seals.

  2. Enable the 'Use Pre-Printed Heat Seal Labels' checkbox.

  3. Enter the first digit of the barcode (e.g., '1').

    1. Note: The first number cannot be 0.

  4. Press 'Update'.

Barcode Lengths

  • Pre-printed barcodes must adhere to lengths of 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12 digits. However, CleanCloud strongly advises using barcodes of a consistent length, preferably 10, 11, or 12 digits.

  • Maintaining a consistent length is essential to prevent issues with barcode variation. For instance, if your current barcodes are 8 digits long, and you reorder with a different length, such as 10 digits, this transition might not be seamless.

  • If a supplier requests a symbology code, their standard one is suitable.

Starting Digits

  • Ensure that the first digit is not '0'.

  • For multi-store setups, it is recommended to assign unique starting digits for each store. For instance, Store A can have all starting digits as 1, and Store B can have all starting digits as 2.

  • Alternatively, CleanCloud offers the option of a shared heat seal database, where a consistent starting digit can be applied across all stores. However, this requires a shared product database and activation request to CleanCloud.

πŸ‘‰ Next Step: Once activated, refer to our Assembly and Racking section for guidance on using heat seal barcodes.
