By default, CleanCloud sends order update emails from an automatic email address generated when your account is created. This email address typically includes your store’s name and the CleanCloud domain, such as [email protected].

However, CleanCloud offers an option to send email notifications using your own domain for a setup fee. For example, if your domain is mydrycleaner.com, notifications can be sent from an address like [email protected].

⚠️ Important: Once linked, replies to these notifications will go directly to your email inbox, not through the CleanCloud POS Inbox.

Pricing

This setup includes a one-time fee:

  • $75 (USD)

  • £65 + VAT (GBP)

  • €65 (EUR)

🚀 Grow and Grow+ subscribers enjoy this feature at no additional cost. Learn more about the benefits of Grow and Grow+ subscriptions.

Setup Steps

  1. Request Domain Setup: Contact CleanCloud Support and provide the email address you’d like to use.

  2. Receive CNAME Values: We will provide specific CNAME values needed to verify your domain for email.

  3. Add CNAME Records: Log in to your domain provider (e.g., Google Domains, GoDaddy) and add the CNAME values we provide to your DNS settings.

  4. Verification: Once the records are added, CleanCloud will verify that emails can be sent on behalf of your domain.

After the setup, your customers will receive email notifications from your branded email address, giving your communications a more professional appearance.

Troubleshooting Domain Verification

If your domain isn't verified after 72 hours, check the following:

  • DNS Records: Ensure you entered the CNAME values in the correct fields. Some DNS providers may refer to the Name/Host field as Host or Hostname, and the Record value field as Points to or Result.

  • Domain Name Appending: Verify that your provider didn't automatically append your domain name to the Name/Host value. If so, remove the extra domain name or add a period (.) at the end of the value.

  • Underscore in DNS Records: The underscore character (_) is required in the Name/Host value of each DNS record. If your provider doesn’t allow underscores, contact their support team for help.

  • AWS Region-Specific Records: The validation records required for your domain’s DNS settings differ by AWS Region. If you want to send emails from multiple AWS Regions, you need to create and verify a separate domain identity for each region.
