If you followed the setup steps but your printer still isn’t working, try the solutions below to resolve common issues.

1. General Printer Troubleshooting Steps

If your printer isn’t installing or functioning as expected, try these general steps:

  • Download the Correct Driver: Visit the printer manufacturer’s website and download the driver-only file for your specific printer model.

  • Unzip the File: If the driver is compressed, right-click on it and select Extract All to unzip it.

  • Update the Driver Manually: Go to Control Panel, locate your printer under the Unspecified section, right-click it, and select Properties. Under the Driver tab, click Update Driver and point to the unzipped folder.

  • Verify Installation: Once updated, check that the printer now appears correctly in Control Panel → Devices and Printers.

Proceed with additional setup steps, such as QZTray installation, if needed.

2. "Tag Printer Not Found" Message

If you see a "Tag Printer Not Found" error, it’s often due to a mismatch in printer names:

  • Check the Printer Name: Ensure that the printer name in CleanCloud matches the exact name displayed in Control Panel.

  • After making sure the names match, click Update in CleanCloud.

If you installed the printer after installing QZTray, you will need to exit QZTray from the system tray and restart it.

3. QZTray Error (Not Running)

If QZTray shows an error or isn’t running properly:

  • Switch Browsers: This issue can occur when using Firefox. Try switching to Google Chrome for better compatibility.

  • Older Windows Versions: If you’re using an older version of Windows (e.g., Windows XP), download QZTray version 2.0.3 for optimal functionality.

🪄 Tip: Learn how to download, install, and set up QZTray in this help guide.

4. Printer Cables or Power Issues

  • Check Connections: Make sure all printer cables are securely and tightly connected.

  • Power On: Verify that the printer is powered on and has paper loaded.

Properly connected cables and powered devices are essential for successful printing.
