Tracking your website traffic is crucial for refining your marketing strategies. By setting up UTM parameters in CleanCloud, you can effectively monitor and optimize the performance of your Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, TikTok Ads, and more.

This guide will help you embed the CleanCloud booking tool with UTM tracking and utilize analytics to enhance your marketing efforts across various platforms.

Embedding Your Store

To embed the CleanCloud booking tool on your website:

  1. Go to Settings → Admin → Pickup and Delivery → Embed Your Store.

  2. Select either the second or third option.

ⓘ Important: To capture UTM campaign data, ensure you’re using one of these embedding methods and that the UTM tracking snippet is included on every page.

📌 For detailed instructions, refer to the guide on How to Link or Embed Your Store.

UTM Parameters Used in CleanCloud

UTM parameters are codes added to URLs that help track traffic sources. CleanCloud supports these UTM parameters:

utm_source

Identifies the referrer (e.g., google, newsletter).

utm_medium

Specifies the marketing medium (e.g., CPC, email).

utm_campaign

Describes the campaign or promotion (e.g., summer_sale, new_service).

utm_term

Defines the targeted audience or keywords (e.g., laundry_service, dry_cleaning).

Adding URL Parameters to Google Ads

To set UTM parameters in Google Ads:

1. Log in to your Google Ads account.

2. Navigate to Admin → Account settings → Tracking.

3. In the Tracking template field, enter:

{lpurl}?utm_term={keyword}&utm_campaign={campaignId}&utm_source=google&utm_medium=ppc

Tip: Do not add your website URL at the beginning of this field; it will be automatically included.

  • Correct: {lpurl}?utm_term={keyword}&utm_campaign={campaignId}&utm_source=google&utm_medium=ppc

  • Incorrect: https://mydryclean.com/{lpurl}?utm_term={keyword}&utm_campaign={campaignId}&utm_source=google&utm_medium=ppc

4. After entering the template, click Test to verify. If set up correctly, the status will show "Landing page found."

5. Click Save.

Adding URL Parameters to Facebook Ads

For Facebook Ads, UTM parameters can only be added at the Ad level. Use the following template:

utm_source=facebook+ads&utm_medium={{adset.name}}&utm_campaign={{campaign.name}}&utm_content={{ad.name}}
  • Source: Facebook Ad

  • Medium: Ad set name

  • Campaign: Campaign name

  • Content: Ad name

Adding URL Parameters to Instagram Ads

If you run Meta Ads via Meta for Business for Facebook and Instagram, follow these steps to add UTM tracking to your campaigns:

  1. Open your Ads Manager account and navigate to the All Tools menu.

  2. When creating or editing an ad, scroll down to the Destination section.

  3. You can edit multiple ads at the campaign level or select Edit Each Ad if prompted.

  4. In the Website URL field, input the destination URL (without UTM parameters).

  5. Click Build a URL Parameter below the Website URL field. Here, you can specify the source, medium, campaign name, campaign content, and any custom parameters. You can also use dynamic parameters like {{campaign.name}} to automate naming.

  6. After setting up your parameters, publish the ad.

TikTok Ads

For TikTok Ads using TikTok for Business, you can create ads in either Simplified Mode or Custom Mode:

1. Simplified Mode

During Step 4 (Create Ad), under Text & Link, add a URL (including UTM parameters) before selecting Submit.

2. Custom Mode

This mode offers additional options, including naming your campaigns and ads for easier reporting. In Section 3 (Ad), under Ad Details, add your URL under Destination Page.

TikTok supports dynamic macros for campaign names, ad IDs, etc. For example, __CAMPAIGN_NAME__ refers to the Campaign Name.

Tracking Metrics with CleanCloud

Once UTM parameters are set up, you can track and analyze data in CleanCloud’s Advertising Metrics.

Go to Settings → Metrics → Advertising to view performance data based on UTM parameters, helping you adjust and optimize your campaigns.
