This article provides a guide on how to activate and set up barcode scanners in CleanCloud, along with basic troubleshooting tips. Barcode scanners can be used with CleanCloud to efficiently locate orders, rack items, and scan heat seal barcode labels.
How to Activate Barcode Scanning
Go to Settings → Hardware and select the Barcode Scanner section.
Enable the Use Barcode Scanner option and press the Update button.
Here, you can also select the Barcode Action on Scan.
Once activated, scanning a barcode printed from CleanCloud should allow the software to interpret the barcode correctly.
Troubleshooting
Scan onto Notepad
If your barcode scanner does not work when scanning a receipt, the most common issue is that the scanner isn’t submitting an Enter or Carriage Return command after each scan.
Open the instruction booklet that came with your barcode scanner.
Scan the barcode option that adds an Enter / Carriage Return after each scan.
You can test this by opening a program like Notepad on your computer and scanning a receipt multiple times. The result should appear as follows, with each scan on a new line:
939900000001
939900000001
939900000001
939900000001
939900000001
Once confirmed, try scanning in CleanCloud again.
Factory Reset
If the barcodes do not appear as described above in Notepad, you may need to perform a factory reset:
1. Scan the necessary barcode from your scanner’s manual to reset it.
2. Ensure it operates in Carriage Return/USB keyboard mode by scanning the relevant barcode.
Refer to your manual for detailed instructions on performing these actions.
