This article will guide you through the setup process and provide essential information for using the Epson TM-m30 Receipt Printer. We will cover the setup steps for the TM-m30, which can be connected via both USB and Ethernet. This article will only cover the setup using Ethernet. Please note your connection method as you follow the instructions below.

How to Setup my Epson TM-m30 with Ethernet?

⚠️ Ethernet Warning ⚠️

While we are compatible with Ethernet Printers, their connection can be volatile and may interfere with integrated payments. We recommend using a USB connection whenever possible to ensure stability and reliability.

Getting Started

Connecting Everything

  1. Turn the Epson printer off using the on/off switch on the printer

  2. Make sure the printer has paper and is connected by an Ethernet cable to your internet router.

    1. Make sure the printer will be on the same network as the devices you want to print from.

  3. Turn the printer on

    1. Once it has established a connection with your network the printer will now print the DHCP self-test page. On this page will be the IP Address of the Printer, as well as the default gateway and subnet mask.

  4. Please take note of the IP Address of the Printer that is printed.

Assign the Printer a Static IP Address

You should only do this step if you are at the location where you will be using the printer; If you are using the printer elsewhere skip to the Entering the IP address into CleanCloud section.

  1. Open your web browser and type in the current IP address of the printer into the URL bar.

  2. Your browser may display a warning that the page is not secure, you should press Proceed Anyway, this is a common security feature and shouldn't raise any concern.

  3. You will then be prompted for a username and password. Enter epson for the username, and epson for the password.

  4. In the left menu, click TCP/IP and set IP Address to Manual.

  5. Enter the static IP address that you want the printer to use in the IP Address field and click Submit at the bottom of the page.

  6. Click Reset on the next screen.

Entering the IP address into CleanCloud

  1. Login to CleanCloud and go to Settings > Hardware to be taken to your printer settings page

  2. Select Epson Intelligent (http) under Receipt Printer Manufacturer Type. Make sure you do not select the (https) option

  3. Enter the IP address you assigned into the IP address field and press Update

  4. The printer is now ready to use.

Troubleshooting

Error Message: Receipt Printer not found

If you are presented with this message then it most likely means that the name of the printer in Windows Control Panel does not exactly match the name of the Printer within the Hardware settings in CleanCloud. You should return to the Configuring The Printer In CleanCloud steps above.

Another reason for this is if you installed the printer after installing QZTray. In this case, navigate to the To restart QZ Tray section above and follow the corresponding steps.

QZTray is not running error is shown despite being installed and running

This sometimes happens if you are using Firefox web browser. We recommend you download and install Google Chrome instead.

This can also happen if you are using an old version of Windows like Windows XP with QZTray. If you are using an old version of Windows then we recommend you download QZTray version 2.0.3

Printer Cables are not connected or the Printer is not turned on

Make sure the cables are connected tightly to the computer and the printer. Also, make sure that the printer is turned on and has paper.
