Due to the removal of pennies in various global currencies and the shortage of pennies in the US, CleanCloud now provides an effortless way to round totals on both the New Order and Ready Page. This ensures smooth transactions and tidy receipts.
How to Enable Penny Rounding
Go to Admin → Workflow → General Settings.
Find the Penny Rounding dropdown.
Select your preferred rounding option: $0.02 | $0.05 | $0.10
You can also choose whether Rounding affects all transactions or just those that use cash.
Save your settings.
Once enabled, all order totals will automatically round according to your selection, keeping transactions tidy and easy.
How Rounding Works
The system rounds the order total according to the selected rounding option, using the symmetric rounding rule. This rounding is applied to the total amount charged to the customer.
Example: Rounding to the nearest $0.05
If the total ends in 1¢ or 2¢, round down to 0¢.
If the total ends in 3¢ or 4¢, round up to 5¢.
If the total ends in 6¢ or 7¢, round down to 5¢.
If the total ends in 8¢ or 9¢, round up to 10¢.
This ensures that payments are adjusted to the nearest 5 cents using the symmetric rounding approach.
